Impact’s Import/Export features an unrivalled range of industry standard data formats that ensure the software's compatibility with virtually any other structural design (CAD), graphic design, or 3D modeling application.

Impact Import/Export gives you total control over the import of CAD files and is able to map line styles to match those defined by the originating software, to ensure that a cut line remains a cut line, a crease line remains a crease line, etc.  This improves communication between you, your customers, and your suppliers, and eliminates any potential for costly error.

Impact Import/Export includes true Adobe® PDF technology, which means that structural designs can be exported for use as a 100% accurate artwork templates in graphic design applications, such as Adobe® Illustrator and Adobe® Photoshop.  PDF export can save individual palette types to separate layers, as simple or compound paths, and with their original colour and pattern characteristics.  Impact PDF is licensed directly from Adobe Systems and provides full support for all current and future releases of this industry standard file format. 

Impact PDF also supports 3D PDF, which allows users to export fully rendered and fully interactive 3D packaging models created using Impact 3D Creator, as individual files, or for inclusion in an Impact Report.

Impact Import/Export allows you to import 3D solid objects representing sample products and use them to initiate or assist the design process (see Impact Shape Creator).

Impact Import/Export filters are available as Standard and Extended modules. The Standard Import/Export filters set consists of CFF2, DDES2 and IPD4. The Extended Import/Export filters set consists of all available formats.
