With the move towards more collaborative web-based solutions such as WEBcnx well under way, designers and brand owners want to be able to see their packaging prototypes at a much earlier stage in the approval process.  High quality virtual 3D samples produced using Impact’s fully integrated 3D features perfectly meet this need, allowing users to share early stage designs with ease.  Although Impact has been capable of producing 3D packaging prototypes with graphics on them for many years, the challenge was to make these models appear more realistic in the way they display characteristics such as board textures, embossing, debossing, foils, varnish areas, rule types and even Braille.  Enhancements to Impact’s 3D functionality mean that packaging designers can now produce as close a simulation of the finished product as is possible with today’s technologies.
