Impact Training Courses
The following training courses are available for users of the Impact packaging design and manufacturing software system.
Course title: IMPACT DESIGN ESSENTIALS
Duration: 3 Days
Prerequisite: None
This training program is recommended for all users of Impact, whether employed as a designer, die maker or in an administrational role. The course covers the principal operation of the software including the Impact database; drawing and editing; text and dimensioning; standards libraries; layout creation; and file import/export. On completion, the delegate will leave the course confident of being able to use the software in a competent and productive manner.
Course title: IMPACT DIEMAKING ESSENTIALS
Duration: 2 Days
Prerequisite: Impact Essentials
This program covers the basic use of Impact’s flatbed and rotary die making tools. On completion, a delegate will be capable of programming a laser-ready flatbed and/or rotary die board complete with bridges, nicks, stripping knives, bolt location system and male, female and front edge strippers.

Prerequisite: Use of earlier versions of Impact
This training program brings existing Designers up to speed with the latest Design features as well as general functionality useful to all Impact users.

This training program brings existing Diemakers up to speed with the latest dedicated Diemaking features as well as general functionality useful to all Impact users.
Course title: IMPACT GRAPHICS AND 3D
Duration: 2 Days
Prerequisite: Impact Essentials
This training program will allow you to add graphics to a design; create and distribute 3D animations (including lighting & camera effects); create multi-part 3D models; create assembly instruction sheets; build your own 3D material library and more.
Course title: IMPACT TRUVIEW
Duration: 1 Day
Prerequisite: Impact for 3D & Graphics
This training program allows the delegate to get to grips with the new Impact 3D TruView functionality – including the representation of embossing; debossing, foiling; varnishing; rule definition and acetate window patches within the 3D environment, plus advanced lighting effects (silhouettes) and wrap-around TruView environments.
Course title: IMPACT FOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATORS
Duration: 2 Days
Prerequisite: None
This training program is aimed at Impact administrators and company IT personnel. The course deals with advanced systems administration topics including the configuration of the Impact database for border plots and the customisation of database fields and tables etc. Also covered are weekly maintenance tasks, folder structures, Impact connection manager, user groups & privileges, database engines and Impact Browser deployment.
Course title: DIEMAKING FOR TEAM LEADERS
Duration: 1 Day
Prerequisite: Impact Diemaking Essentials
This program provides delegates with the skills to create and alter settings for flatbed and rotary die boards, strippers and stripping knives; create symbols and symbol patterns.
Course title: IMPACT RUBBER CREATOR AND NESTER
Duration: ½ Day
Prerequisite: Impact Diemaking Essentials
This program allows Diemakers to produce rubber sections using sample maker, water jet or laser technology. It includes use of Impact’s rubber creator and rubber nester features.
Course title: IMPACT MATRIX CREATOR
Duration: ½ Day
Prerequisite: Impact Diemaking Essentials
This program covers the use of Impact’s manual and automatic make ready tools for the creation of counter dies. Delegates will be taught how to program matrix to suit standard style cartons, such as RTE, CLB and skillets.
Course title: IMPACT BLANKER CREATOR
Duration: 1 Day
Prerequisite: Impact Diemaking Essentials
This program provides delegates with the skills to produce upper and lower blankers, blanker rubber and lay blanker symbol patterns. Delegates are also shown how to create and alter all settings for the production of blankers.
Course title: IMPACT PARAMETRIC AND STANDARDS DESIGN
Duration: 4 Days
Prerequisite: Impact Design Essentials
This course teaches delegates how to convert designs into re-useable, dimension-driven, parametric drawings - including the specifying of variable values (e.g. length, width, height etc) and defining relationships between variables. Building upon this foundation, delegates will then learn how to transform the parametric drawings into user-friendly Standards (complete with 2D & 3D Previews, user defined entry forms, error and range checking, value mapping and material variables).
