Software Maintenance

Impact users can obtain comprehensive cover for their software by purchasing a software maintenance contract (SMC). An Impact SMC provides the following entitlements, along with discounts against a range of services, from consultancy to training.

Telephone Hotline Support

Available during normal working hours and provides customers with assistance and information about the general use of Impact. Customers can also obtain limited advice about interfacing Impact to peripheral machinery and third party software applications. Training cannot be given over the telephone. Telephone hotline support is not available during weekends or public holidays. All calls are dealt with as promptly as possible.

Version Upgrades

Periodically Arden Software will announce the release of version upgrades of Impact. Typically version upgrades contain new features and/or feature enhancements. It is recommended that upgrade installations of Impact are carried out by Arden Software personnel. However, if the customer elects to undertake the installation of version upgrades, it is recommended that they contact Arden Software for assistance beforehand. Arden Software will not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental loss or damage arising out of installations of Impact that are not carried out by Arden Software personnel.

Service Packs

Periodically Arden Software will announce the release of service packs for Impact. Typically service packs contain minor feature enhancements and/or bug fixes. It is recommended that service pack installations of Impacts are carried out by Arden Software personnel. If the customer elects to undertake the installation of service packs, it is recommended that they contact Arden for assistance beforehand.  Arden Software will not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental loss or damage arising out of installations of Impact that are not carried out by Arden Software personnel.

Hotfixes

A hotfix is an interim, customer specific, production critical fix for Impact.

Optional:

Extended Dongle Warranty Insurance 

Following the expiry of the standard software warranty period, extended dongle warranty insurance can be purchased and entitles the customer to the free of charge replacement of defective dongles for the duration of a SMC.

Comprehensive Dongle Insurance

Entitles the customer to the free of charge replacement of damaged, lost, or stolen dongles for the duration of a SMC on the provision that the customer complies with our dongle replacement procedures.
